This is first time we booked from airbnb. I must say it was a good experience. The place is very nice. Big room with attached bathroom, very well kept. Vivek and his family members are very helpful and jovial. We loved the food cooked by Payal bhabhi. We enjoyed our stay. Will miss every one specially Hachi . Thanks to Vivek and his family.

We had the most wonderful experience with Vivek and his family. Having just under 24hrs in Amritsar, we were welcomed as family, given excellent advice for sight seeing, had the most amazing home cooked meals by his wife and even had a henna session arranged. It was above and beyond our expectations and were so grateful to have found his Airbnb. Thank you! We would stay with him and his family agaih in a heartbeat!

Staying in Amristsar B&B with Vivek’s family was our first Airbnb experience which we were looking forward to uncertain about how it will turn out to be. The experience exceeded our expectations. As they say the “First experience is the best experience”, our first airbnb experience was truly amazing. As soon as we reached Vivek’s place, we were offered tea and snacks. His wife prepared very good dinner too. The day we departed, we had to leave early morning at 5am, Vivek’s wife Payal packed us chapathi for our journey. We are very much thankful to her. The 2 rooms we stayed in was very spacious and spacious bathroom’s as well.

Overall, wonderful stay and recommended place in Amritsar

The host and his family were very warm and helpful. Both Vivek and his wife looked after us and fed us like we were family. The access to the street where the house is, is dug up and initially one feels it’s like a maze.

Staying at Viveks was great! He picked me up at the airport even though my flight was delayed an hour, and set up taxis to drive me around for the day to see all the sights. His English is great and the whole family was very welcoming and chatty. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you plan to come to Amritsar

Wow, such a homely AirBNB experience. The amicable Vivek continuously goes out of his way to ensure that the accommodation as well as the overall visit to Amritsar is an efficient and carefree experience, even organising my onward journey for me. Special credit must go to Vivek’s wife and 2 sons who ensured that I had enough food and tea. Thankyou the Mehra family, highly recommended.

This has to be by far, the best airbnb experience I’ve had. Vivek and his family are warm, charming and all out to make us comfortable.

When I called Vivek a day prior to our arrival, a bit concerned about the weather, and asked if our rooms would have heaters, he said, ‘Heater, wifi, everything is available. You’re coming *home*!’ Just hearing him say that made me go ‘wow’.

That should’ve been my first sign of things to come. I can talk about the spanking clean room, the HUGE bathroom, clean towels and sheets, but more than anything else, the family was incredibly warm and treated us like family.

We arrived on a cold winter evening, with our 6 month old in arms, and there were steaming hot cups of tea already waiting for us. I’m not kidding. The next morning we woke up, and again, there was tea waiting for is. Being a bit of a tea addict, and given the cold weather, this was perfect. Next, Vivek’s wife Sangeeta (Payal) made fresh, piping hot parathas for us. Just fantastic. None of the cold bread and jam and eggs sort of breakfast you’d associate with BnBs. This was like having breakfast at home!

They went out of the way and did a batch of laundry for us when we enquired where we could, and refused to let us compensate for that.

Finally, the dinner. We were treated to some authentic Punjabi winter treats. Makki di roti and Sarson ka saag. And gud ka halwa. Vivek’s wife was just amazing, dishing out rotis for four of us guests with a smile and not looking the least bit tired. The whole breakfast and dinner experience also made me ponder – it would be great if at least one home-cooked meal is a part of each Airbnb experience. Nothing like eating like the Romans do, right?

His two sons are charming, and it was great having a meal together with them. Vivek makes for a great host and can keep you engaged in interesting conversation for a long, long time.

All in all, great experience and honestly, like one of our friends said, it was like visiting family. The stay itself was a great part of the Amritsar experience. Highly recommend Vivek’s place.

I think this one has really set the bar really high for me as far as Airbnb experiences go and will be quite a tough one to match.
